Tūāpapa | Te Waka o Hāto Petera Wāwāhi Ara
Tūāpapa
With the support of Kāhui Kaumātua and Bishop Steve Lowe, the Hāto Petera Interim Governance Group are pleased to share the Tūāpapa, the Terms of Reference for the period commencing 1 October 2025 and concluding on 30 September 2031. The Tūāpapa establishes Te Waka o Hāto Petera Wāwāhi Ara who will work with the Bishop and Kāhui Kaumatua in a spirit of co-operation and trust to deliver the mahi. The Wāwāhi Ara will recommend to the Bishop:
- A long term education service
- Building works for a chapel, marae and community facilities
- Sources of funding
- Other proposals that the Bishop asks of the Wāwāhi Ara in accordance with the vision.
The Tūāpapa will be introduced at a Hui-ā-Whānau on the Feast of Hāto Petera (Sunday 29 June 2025). A copy of the Tūāpapa and presentation slides from the hui-ā-whānau may be viewed/downloaded by clicking the buttons below. A video presentation will be available via this page early in July for those who were unable to attend the hui-ā-whānau.
Te Waka o Hāto Petera Wāwāhi Ara
Wāwāhi Ara members will contribute a wide variety of skills and diversity of thought to the Hāto Petera repurposing kaupapa. They will enable good governance through strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, built on tika, pono, aroha. This will include working positively with the Kāhui Kaumatua and Bishop.
